China's largest LED maker San'an Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. made an announcement late on December 11, that the company approved the proposal for its wholly-owned subsidiary San'an Optoelectronics (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. to purchase MOCVD systems.
According to the company strategy, the subsidiary is to build a production line that houses 200 MOCVD systems (equivalent to 100 2-inch 54 PCS-standard systems), which will be purchased in two phases. The company decided to purchase 50 from Veeco, and has signed the purchase agreement with Xiamen Xindeco Ltd. and Veeco.
The agreement states that, the subsidiary is to mission Xiamen Xindeco Ltd. to purchase 50 Veeco EPIK700 MOCVD systems, which are worth USD 133.75 million in total. The products will be shipped between December 2014 and August 2015 in batches, the exact details are to be arranged by the subsidiary.
It is reported that, San'an Opto ordered 50 next-generation Showerhead metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) systems from deposition equipment maker Aixtron SE of Aachen, Germany back in September.
